HOW IT ALL STARTED
The MUD PUPPIES were started in August 2003 at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas and was originally established as a club for military and law enforcement individuals. The inaugural MUD PUPPIES ride was to the little town of Carnudas, Texas (pop. 6 or 7-depending on who is home) where we enjoyed some of the best burgers in Texas. Since then “MUD PUPPIES Monday Night” was created involving the club getting together to watch Monday Night football and to enjoy evening rides. The 2003 Ruidoso Aspencade held in Ruidoso, NM, was the first official bike rally attended by the MUD PUPPIES and it included a 3-day camping experience in Cloudcroft, NM. Since then the MPMC has grown to become an International military and/or law enforcement club.
The MPMC is open to anyone that enjoys riding motorcycles, fellowship, and each other’s company. Our members can be found all over the world either in an MPMC Chapter or as solo riders (if there is no local chapter nearby). Our club also recognizes that all of our members have a life outside of the club as well; we understand that sometimes folks just get busy with work, family, etc. and that is okay.
We are NOT a political club, an outlaw club, a territorial club, or a club that tries to be anything more than what it is. We are a club of motorcycle enthusiasts with similar backgrounds and are more of a family than anything. We firmly believe in quality versus quantity when it comes to growing the membership of our organization.
NAME
The club name comes from the slang term used to describe Military Police (MP’s) as “Mud Puppies.”
COLORS
The club colors are Green and Gold which are the colors of the United States Army Military Police Corps. The patch was developed from the Military Police motto of “Assist, Protect, Defend.” The key symbolizes “Assist,” the shield symbolizes “Protect,” and the sword symbolizes “Defend.”
